Castle Rock Winery

LOCATION: California, Oregon and Washington

WINEMAKER: Eric Laumann

KNOWN FOR: Castle Rock has the reputation of being one of the best value wineries in America. They source grapes from a multitude of renowned growing regions to bring a variety of crowd-pleasing wines to market.

HISTORY: Quality and Value — Castle Rock makes no secret about their goal when making wine. Since its founding over twenty years ago, the winery has worked tirelessly to produce great wines from a latitude of sources – and keep the prices low enough to qualify as “everyday wine”. Castle Rock now has relationships with over 40 grape growers from California, Oregon and Washington State. Each grower is tasked with growing quality grapes that will become the backbone of drinkable, yet quite intriguing wines. For several years now, Castle Rock has been one of our favorite wineries to showcase, simply because the wine quality is so high compared to the price. That trend looks to continue, which is great news for us, and even better news for wine drinkers everywhere!

Castle Rock Chardonnay

Castle Rock Chardonnay Columbia Valley 2014

86 Points, Wine Enthusiast
The Columbia Valley of Washington is well-suited to growing Chardonnay. This is not an over-the-top oak monster Chardonnay. Instead, it shows a bit more fruit and finesse.
A crowd-pleasing white wine for any occasion.

Castle Rock Petite Sirah Lodi 2012

Castle Rock Petite Sirah Lodi 2012

This unique varietal is a great accompaniment to grilled meats and BBQ. Bursting with rich flavors and smooth tannins, this is a fantastic bottle of red for the price.

Castle Rock Pinot Noir Columbia Valley 2013

Castle Rock Pinot Noir Columbia Valley 2013

87 Points, Wine Enthusiast
One of our “go-to” Pinot Noirs. It can be tough to find good, inexpensive Pinot given the grape’s finicky nature but Castle Rock manages to pull off quite the coup with their Columbia Valley Pinot Noir.
Light, bright, and smooth – this wine is tough to beat.

Regular : $10.19 | SALE : $9.17

Castle Rock Pinot Noir Kristy Vineyards Monterey 2014

Castle Rock Pinot Noir Kristy Vineyards Monterey 2014

A bit more intense and richer than the Columbia and Willamette Pinot bottlings, the single vineyard Kristy Pinot Noir is a very pretty wine.
Lovely floral and red fruit notes lead to smooth tannins and good acidity. Delicious!

Regular : $14.19 | SALE : $12.17

Castle Rock Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2014

Castle Rock Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2014

89 Points, Wine Spectator
Because Willamette Valley is known for making world-class Pinot Noir, it can be tough to find Willamette Pinot Noir for under $20.
Again, Castle Rock over-delivers, showcasing the Oregon balance – fruit and earth – and exceptionally smooth on the finish.

Regular : $15.19 | SALE : $13.67
