    August Kesseler Pinot Noir

    Pfalz, Germany ($23.19)

    100% Pinot Noir

Most people don’t think of Germany when they think of Pinot Noir, but they should. August Kesseler, a well-known Pinot Noir producer in Germany, hand-harvested the grapes from 25 year old vines that are farmed nearly biodynamically. In other words, this wine couldn’t get any more organic in nature. It’s very delicate with loads of red fruits, like cherry and strawberry, along with subtle spice that are typical in a Pinot. It has great tannic structure and acidity that is seamlessly balanced with bold fruit flavors that makes it a very easy-to-drink wine.

Pairs perfectly with anything that has red sauce as well as most savory fish or seafood dishes.
